•        The event provided the style, taste and amusement of the two islands with ‘Geomundo Boating Song,’ fishing experience, and promoting Geomundo Sea Breeze Mugwort.

August 22, 2023 – A cultural event was successfully held on Geomundo and Baekdo islands, popular tourist attractions located in Yeosu, South Jeolla Province, to allow residents and visitors to enjoy the summer sea.

 

Geomundo Offshore Wind Power Co., Ltd.  was the sponsor of the 21^st Geomundo-Baekdo Silver Sea Festival, building on the success of last year’s event.

 

The two-day event held on August 12-13 was hosted by Yeosu City and supervised by the Geomundo and Baekdo Silver Sea Festival Promotion Committee. This event is a popular summer attraction for visitors to enjoy the fresh seasonal specialities and beautiful scenery of the two Islands, which have been selected as one of Yeosu’s top 10 scenic spots.

 

Geomundo Offshore Wind Power Co., Ltd., which is promoting a 500 MW offshore wind farm off the west coast of Geomundo in Yeosu, sponsored the successful hosting of this local festival with a long history in Yeosu, and shared quality time with the residents who have been working hard for regional development.

 

The event featured performances of ‘Geomundo Boating Song,’ the intangible cultural property of the South Jeolla Province, and samulnori, the traditional percussion performance. Attendees had the chance to experience the beautiful seaside scenery of the two islands and enjoy delicious seafood and explore a promotion center for marine products and mugwort grown in the sea breeze of the Geomundo. On the second day included a variety of events, such as drawing beach seines, catching gastropods, and a silver singing festival.
