Corio Generation and TotalEnergies have partnered with the ChildFund Korea to support the ‘Eco Mom! Happy Kids!,’ an eco-friendly program operated by the Ulsan Nam-gu Community Welfare Center.

‘Eco Mom! Happy Kids!' is an activity-based program joined by children and their parents to raise awareness of environmental conservation and improve the water quality of the Yeocheon Stream.

Corio and TotalEnergies have made a donation as part of their efforts for co-prosperity with local communities to share the significance of a sustainable environment with local community in Ulsan and to shoulder social responsibilities, and also plan to participate in voluntary works, such as plogging around the Yeocheon Stream.

“I would like to express my deepest gratitude for their consistent interest and support since 2019 in creating a better environment for local communities and future generations in Ulsan,” said Oh Se-geol, Director of the Ulsan Nam-gu Community Welfare Center.

Corio and TotalEnergies are carrying out floating offshore wind power projects with a total capacity of 1.5 gigawatts in Ulsan.

May 17, 2022 – Corio Generation(“Corio”), Green Investment Group’s new specialist offshore wind business, and TotalEnergies, a global multi-energy company, both of which participate in the floating offshore wind farm projects in Ulsan, announced on May 17 that they partnered with the ChildFund Korea and supported the ‘Eco Mom! Happy Kids!,’ an eco-friendly program operated by the Ulsan Nam-gu Community Welfare Center.

The program aims to inform children and their parents of how serious environmental problems are and to clean up the environment to solve the problems. A series of environmental conservation activities, such as eco-friendly education, water quality monitoring, and plogging (gathering litter while running) will be conducted around the Yeochoen Stream for about nine months from April to December this year. The program was designed to make sure that people in local communities become local environmental activists who could take the lead in improving and protecting their village environment.

This sponsorship was sought to share the significance of a sustainable environment with local community in Ulsan and to shoulder social responsibilities as part of the efforts that Corio and TotalEnergies are making for co-prosperity with local communities.

Having made a donation to the ‘Eco Mom! Happy Kids!' program, the two companies will voluntarily participate in the plogging event to be held around Ulsan Yeocheon Stream in June.

“Corio and TotalEnergies have provided us with consistent support by helping improve children’s classrooms at the welfare center and sending gifts to mark Children’s Day in 2019 and 2020,” said Oh Se-geol, director of the Ulsan Nam-gu Community Welfare Center. “This year, they have taken one step further. I would like to express my deepest gratitude for their interest in creating a better environment for local communities and future generations in Ulsan and for helping residents carry out environmental improvement activities.”

“I am pleased to work with local communities in Ulsan to create a culture in which people become conscious of environmental protection and actively take on the responsibility,” Shin Jung-won, Country Chair of TotalEnergies Korea, said at the donation delivery ceremony. “We will spare no effort to create a healthier life for residents and a better future for children by thinking through how to address climate change and other environmental issues in cooperation with local communities.”

Corio and TotalEnergies also plan to deliver the ChildFund Korea’s environmental education kits (a board game for recycling education) to local participants in the program and to provide education on carbon neutrality and offshore wind power generation.

Corio and TotalEnergies, which have formed a joint business to develop a portfolio of 5 large floating offshore wind projects in Korea(BadaEnergy protfolio), have continued to progress the floating offshore wind projects with a total capacity of 1.5 gigawatts(project names, Gray Whale Offshore Wind Farm Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ) in Ulsan, obtaining the electric business licenses (EBLs) for three off the coast of Ulsan by February this year from the Electricity Regulatory Commission under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
